DESTRUCTIVE TESTING

for Welding Procedure or Welder Qualification

BENDS

Cutting, Machining and Bending.

Side, Root or Face Bend specimens are bent for welding procedure or welder testing requirements.

Results for bend tests are either provided on a welder qualification record or laboratory report depending on the purpose of testing.

NICK BREAKS

Cutting, Machining and Breaking.

Nick breaks specimens are broken and the exposed fractured surfaces are examined to code, standard and/or specification.

Results for nick breaks are provided on a welder qualification record or laboratory report, depending on the purpose of testing.

Tensile Testing.png

TENSILES

Cutting, Machining, and Pulling.

Tensile specimens are subject to controlled tension until failure. This type of testing is used for welding procedure qualification.

Results for tensile tests are provided on a laboratory report.
